Lab pey aati hai
19Jul08
When I was in Govt Primary School, Chak# 2 Shamali, tehsil Bhalwal, distt Sargodha, everymorning in school, all the students gathered at assembly point and sung this poem.
Lab pey aati hai dua ban k tamanna meri
Zindagi shamha ki surat ho khudaya meri
Door dunai ka meray dam se andhera ho jaey
Her jaga meray chamkanye se ujala ho jaey
Ho mery dam se yunhi meray watan ki zeenat
Jis tarah phool se hoti hai chaman ki zeenat
Zindgi ho meri parwaney ki surat ya rab
Ilm ki sahmha se ho mujh ko muhabbat ya rab
Ho mera kam gharibon ki hamayat keran
Dardmandon se zaeefon se mohabbat kerna
Mery ALLAH her burai se bachana mujh ko
Naik jo rah ho us rah pe chalana mujh ko
Lab pey aati hai dua ban k tamana merai
Zindgi shamha ki surat ho khudaya meri

I also used to sing the same “Dua” by Allama Iqbal in my school days . When we were in level 2 or 3 , we used to get surprised that how baji’z n bhai’z are reciting such a difficult dua but things got clear when we replaced them in assembly
Beautiful memories and sincere prayer of childhood
Thanx for sharing MZ…
